Capital One offers several specialty finance products through various brands and entities within the Commercial Bank. The Specialty Finance Operations team is responsible for supporting the origination, booking, funding, and servicing of these products. Job Description

Manage all facets of the Specialty Finance Operations department. The department is based primarily in Melville, Long Island, but has co-located staff in Towson, Maryland, and New Orleans, Louisiana. Two manager level employees, each with oversight of booking and servicing respectively, report to the department manager. The functional areas under their control include new product booking and funding activities, payment processing, quality control, and system performance, proper booking of activity to the banks books and records and oversight of all reconciliation reports associated with this activity. In addition, the department manager will be responsible for maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in business development.

Other Responsibilities:

- Supervising employees including performance assessment, counseling and providing input on employee ratings.

- Assist in recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

- Risk assessment of operational processes. Escalate areas of improvement and lead change.

Qualifications

Summary

Manage and/or assist in the origination, structuring, underwriting and closing of potential healthcare real estate finance opportunities. Assist in the structuring, underwriting and negotiation of legal documents for individual transactions. Through this work, this Senior Director will have direct accountability for a $20 million direct budget and a staff of 120 FTEs.

The Senior Director of Capital Market’s Technology will partner with executives in IT, Operations, and the business areas. A critical skill is the ability to partner and influence across the enterprise both in the business strategy and the IT architecture space. This role will also require the candidate to be able to develop and build buy-in for the strategy, as well as deliver on the execution and maintain a highly available application suite. Strong communications skills and the ability to work through others are core competencies for this role.

This Senior Director will contribute to the technology organization’s success in providing innovative solutions to the business for technology, process, sourcing and organizational governance within Capital One’s unique company cultured

Responsibilities

- Lead teams responsible for Capital One’s Capital Markets, Corporate Treasury and Balance Sheet Management technologies, supporting key business areas under the Commercial Bank’s Capital Markets (Derivatives) business, Corporate Treasury, and Balance Sheet Management divisions

- Collaborate with suppliers, IT partners, Operations, and business areas to develop and execute strategies that will enable growth for the Finance, Capital Markets and Corporate Treasury business

- Drive key architectural decisions for our Capital Markets technologies

- Lead the teams responsible for both day-to-day operations as well as project delivery

- Interact directly with senior executives in IT, Operations, and business areas and on occasion our regulators

- Develop a high-performing team and ensure career development

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications

- Bachelors Degree in Finance and/or Information Technology

- 8 years experience in Finance, Treasury or Capital Markets IT Leadership

- 8 years experience implementing finance, treasury or capital markets platforms

- 10 years IT management experience

Preferred Qualifications

More specifically, it is preferred that the candidate has experience in the following areas:

- Masters degree in Finance and/or Information Technology

- Experience with the following applications and data providers: Murex, QRM, Misys Summit, Sungard Quantum, Bloomberg AIM, Polypaths, Reval, Andrew Davidson, Intex

- Experience with vendor management and leading large implementations and systems integration of third party software

- Experience leading custom application development particularly with J2EE architecture

- Experience with Capital Markets operations and accounting including the operational workflow of derivatives and investment securities

- Highly developed presentation and communication skills

- Ability to influence and lead a diverse group of stakeholders to consensus

- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a variety of audiences

- Ability to manage a large, transformative portfolio of programs

- Ability to manage a large, complex, mission-critical portfolio of applications

Capital One's Balance Sheet Management team is seeking a motivated professional for the interest rate Analytics team's Senior Analyst Position. The role provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the bank's balance sheet, measure and manage Interest Rate Risk, and project Net Interest Margin in different macro economic scenarios.

The Senior Analyst Position will participate in shaping Capital One's long term business strategy by developing analysis and reports to evaluate the company's interest rate risk position. Capital One is seeking a motivated professional to join the Interest Rate Risk (IRR) Analytics team as a Principal Associate. The IRR Analytics team with in the Balance Sheet Management group is primarily responsible for measuring and managing our balance sheet’s interest rate risk. This includes detail modeling of assets and liabilities in QRM, partnering with Lines of Business and Corporate Treasury teams to incorporate balance sheet and model assumptions, and analyzing and reporting our Net Interest Margin and interest rate risk position on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities:

- Model balance and interest cash flows for Commercial and Home Loan portfolios in QRM planning function in different interest rate and economic scenarios

- Develop Balance Sheet Planning strategies in QRM model for Capital One’s overall and legal entities’ balance sheet

- Partner with Lines of Business to understand business strategies and their implication on baseline Net Interest Margin and our interest rate risk positioning

- Analyze and implement Lines of Business provided balance sheet forecast assumptions, and develop principal and interest cash flows in different rate scenarios

- Provide support in developing baseline Net Interest Margin forecast in QRM on a monthly basis, understand and explain trend of loans’ yield and deposits’ cost forecast, and provide explanation for change in Net Interest Margin

- Collaborate with different teams within Treasury and across the organization on various planned and ad-hoc corporate projects like Stress Test, Long Term Financial Plan, etc.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

- MBA or MS in Finance, Business, or related area

- 3 years of experience in Asset Liability Management or Line of Business finance function focusing on loans, or any other relevant function

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5 or more years of experience in Asset Liability Management or Line of Business finance function focusing on loans and/or deposits

- 2 years of Net Income Margin modeling experience for a large bank with significant loans and deposits exposure

- 2 years of QRM or other Interest Rate Risk modeling experience

- Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to independently drive cross functional projects

- CFA or working towards certification

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
