<item><title>Unit Manager- Laurel, MD Job (Laurel, MD, US)</title><description><![CDATA[Unit Manager- Laurel, MD-736285<br/><br/><b>Description</b><br/>Summary:<br/><br/>The incumbent is responsible for managing junior and senior Loan Coordinators involved in monitoring collateral on a portfolio of commercial and small business loans, this includes reviewing and approving daily work prepared by associates ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.   Duties include monitoring flood, hazard, and forced placed insurance, taxes, and UCC filings associated with loan transactions.  These are high-dollar, often complex loans which include bank-originated loans, participations and letters of credit and asset based revolving lines of credit. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal regulations and Bank policy, in addition to identifying, researching, solving and/or responding to requests, inquiries, and problem situations in a timely manner.<br/><br/>Role and <b>Responsibilities:</b><br/><br/>- Develop, lead, motivate and manage a team of associates responsible for monitoring collateral<br/><br/>- Manage and monitor daily production requirements of collateral monitoring team, ensuring service levels are met/exceeded in terms of timeliness, quality and customer service<br/><br/>- Review and approve daily work prepared by Loan Coordinators, assist with more complex loans and/or compliance issues.<br/><br/>- Supervise and monitor insurance, tax, and UCC tracking processes, reviewing insurance policies, documents, and loan systems to ensure compliance with federal and state lending regulations, and bank policies and procedures.<br/><br/>- Actively manage and/or participate in projects as requested by the Collateral Servicing Senior Manager and Commercial Operations Leadership<br/><br/>-Communicate with loan officers and other associates regarding insurance tracking, exceptions, and collateral monitoring<br/><br/>-Prepare/monitor schedules and reports on collateral monitoring processes.<br/><br/>- Verify and document all collateral monitoring issues and work with internal & external partners to resolve issues.<br/><br/>- Develop and document processes and procedures, ensuring consistent and effective processes<br/><br/>- Other duties as assigned.<br/><br/><b>Qualifications</b><br/>Skills & Experience<br/><br/>-Supervisor responsibilities and aptitude<br/><br/>-Possess a high degree of PC proficiency<br/><br/>-Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate with borrowers and all levels of Bank management.<br/><br/>-Must be highly organized and able to work independently in a demanding work environment.<br/><br/>-Ability to work and lead others in a team environment.<br/><br/>Basic Qualifications:<br/><br/>- 5 years in a bank or financial institution with experience handling collateral, documenting loans, and/or working in loan operations, or comparable experience.<br/><br/>- 3 years supervisory or management experience<br/><br/>- 3 years experience working in Excel and Word.<br/><br/>- College degree in Business or Accounting and/or significant related commercial and/or loan operations experience<br/><br/>Preferred Qualifications:<br/><br/>- 5 years experience in commercial or small business banking operations<br/><br/>- Working knowledge of the various types of loan documents associated with commercial and small business loans<br/><br/>- Understanding of the principles relating to the perfection of security interests in collateral and commercial and small business loan documentation<br/><br/>- Knowledge of various insurance policies with concentration on flood and hazard<br/><br/>- Knowledge of lien perfection and monitoring processes, including real estate taxes, escrow, and UCC<br/><br/>-Knowledge of commercial and small business loan accounting systems<br/><br/>-Good organizational skills.<br/><br/>-Ability to effectively manage time.<br/><br/>-Independent and self motivated.<br/><br/>-Detail oriented.<br/><br/>-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<br/><br/>-Good interpersonal techniques.<br/><br/>-Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.<br/><br/>-Knowledge of ACBS or ALS loan accounting systems<br/><br/>-Bachelors degree BA or BS in Business, Finance or related area<br/><br/>At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.<br/><br/>No agencies please.
