The Mortgage Consultant is a partner to Fulfillment in delivering an excellent customer experience.<br/><br/>Specific <b>Responsibilities:</b><br/><br/>- Ability to work in a Bank regulated or similar financial institution environment to partner and leverage products and customers<br/>- Work personal existing book of business from external sources such as:<br/>- Realtors<br/>- Builders<br/>- Attorneys<br/>- CPAs<br/>- Financial Planners<br/>- Developers<br/>- Utilize needs based consultant selling skills for mortgage programs and other financial lending and deposit products<br/>- Ability to thrive in a team environment and utilize exceptional partnership skills<br/>- Leverage external referral business for maximum market share penetration<br/>- Develop and execute a local marketing plan for external business development designed to meet goals and objectives<br/>- Focus exclusively on customer needs and customer service<br/>- Program, pipeline updates and mortgage activities/events such as &#8220;Mortgage Days,&#8221; Community Events, First time home buyer seminars<br/>- To promote behavior that is consistent with Capital One&#8217;s visions, values and ethics in order to always &#8220;do the right thing.&#8221;<br/><br/><b>Qualifications</b><br/>Basic Qualifications:<br/><br/>High school diploma, GED, or equivalent<br/>- At least 3 years experience in residential mortgage sales originations<br/>- At least 2 years experience in FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA programs and underwriting guidelines, as well as those of other conventional investors, state/local bond programs and private mortgage insurers<br/><br/>Preferred Qualifications:<br/><br/>- Bachelor&#8217;s Degree<br/>- At least 2 years experience working in a Bank regulated environment.<br/>- An existing book of business from external sources.<br/>- Needs based, consultative selling skills.<br/>- Thoroughly versed in mortgage originations with knowledge of loan underwriting, processing and closing functions.<br/>- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<br/>- Ability to work under pressure.<br/><br/>Requires successful registration with, and issuance of a unique identification number from, the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E.
